Summary:
Our client is seeking a motivated individual to be the Senior Systems Engineer, managing the data center and be directly responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of all virtual servers, physical systems, storage and networking for. The Senior Systems Engineer makes independent, creative, and technical contributions to installing and managing system and server configurations and providing maintenance to ensure the integrity of the operating environment (monitor performance, predict requirements, implement changes, etc.) They are responsible for server and storage infrastructure including actively participating in designing, assessing, project planning, implementing, documenting and supporting complex systems infrastructure environments. The Senior Systems Engineer will be involved in multiple projects through all life-cycle phases in accordance with established procedures and standards; diagnoses, isolates and debugs system problems, performs problem resolution and provides tier 3 technical support for all enterprise systems. This position will also provide technical leadership, vision and direction to management for on-site and cloud technologies


ESSENTIAL TASKS:

Manage Byram data center, including all servers, systems, storage, networking, and power
? Manage converged infrastructure ? IBM PureFlex / V7000 experience a plus
? Lead project to complete server consolidation into IBM PureFlex environment
? Support VMware vSphere environment including activities such as design, deployment, maintenance & troubleshooting
? Expert on the Microsoft Stack ? Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, Exchange, Lync, SQL, SharePoint, BizTalk, System Center
? Storage Expert ? SAN (IBM V7000, NetApp, EqualLogic, EMC) Fiber Channel, iSCSI, LUN layout, best practices, etc.
? Document, plan, design, implement, support, maintain, and monitor all aspects of an enterprise Microsoft-based environment, including Active Directory, Exchange, Lync, SQL server, SharePoint, file/print services, etc.
? Assist in the design, integration, deployment and maintaining of Layer 2/3 networks, multi- protocol block networks and storage, SAN, and security
? Provide consistent follow-up on incidents/changes until long term objectives are completed
? Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects
? Future responsibility for architecting high-availability and robust disaster recovery using VMware or third-party technologies
? Assists in defining policies and procedures in the areas of Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Systems Management, Monitoring, Systems Administration/Security, Build Standards, and Server Build Automation


Qualifications:

7+years of hands-on systems administration, support, and operational experience in a medium to large enterprise, including:
? Extensive experience with VMware / vSphere / vCenter
? Experience working towards cloud computing, beyond virtualization
? Knowledge of Active Directory 2008 including but not limited to GPO, schema, and best practices
? Solid understanding of email, including Microsoft Exchange 2010, standard SMTP, IMAP, and MAPI
? Solid understanding of administration scripts and languages such as PowerShell or VB
? Sold understanding of backup and recovery technologies
? Knowledge of Lync environments
? Windows server/application performance trending and health monitoring
? Solid understanding of security as it applies to Microsoft technologies
? System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) deployment and infrastructure knowledge including troubleshooting, design, and implementation experience

Education

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
