Position Summary
Senior Database Engineer:
This position writes, tests, and maintains data integrity, converting client s requests into reports, documentation and other forms of usable information. Provides exceptional customer support.
Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with clinical users and informaticist to gather business requirements for new data development tasks. Analyze clinical work flow and application to identify related information extraction method in SQL data warehouse.
Hands-on development in complex data extraction utilizing SQL technologies such as stored procedures, SSIS and .NET. Engineer efficient, automated and reliable solutions to deliver accurate data results.
Analyze clinical and business needs and requirements to define and build datamart with historical and multidimensional structure in assisting management decision-making for financial planning and clinical efficiency.
Analyze clinical data structure between different systems to integrate data into a central data warehouse.
Develop complex dashboard reports and scheduled delivery processes utilizing SSRS, SSIS and SQL jobs.
Efficiently produce ad-hoc SQL based reports in an on-demand environment.
Improve, reengineer and optimize legacy reports utilizing available technologies. Architect and design new database structure and schema. Maintain healthy SQL server, performance tuning and resolve data specific issues.
Maintain existing and develop new ETL processes to facilitate healthcare data exchange between SQL data repository, datamart and other data sources.
Develop and maintain HL7 interfaces for data exchanges for future clinical systems integration.
Education, Training, Licensure and Experience Requirements
One year experience with Meditech Software preferred.
BA/BS in Information Systems or equivalent work experience preferred.
3 years experience in healthcare information systems.
Computer expertise with data analysis and use of hospital related computer programs.
Demonstrated experience successfully supporting administrative, financial, or clinical department managers and operating personnel with ability to work well with a variety of personalities.
Expertise in the use of SQL, BIDS, SSRS, SQL Management Studio, and Visual Basic
Midas and HL7 Experience preferred.
