Summary:
The Technical Lead of After Sales Application development is a position within a development group focused on building our core After Sales and Customer Engagement platforms.
These platforms include customer and associate facing applications built on AWS using Microservices Architecture and other AWS components that integrate with existing systems and databases.
The Technical Lead is responsible for the overall design, implementation, and quality of the code their team produces.

Responsibilities:
Lead the architectural design and coding implementation of the After Sales platform Lead the hiring of additional engineers and mentor junior engineers on good engineering practices and knowledge Responsible to build out the backend tech stack on AWS and/or Azure Work cross-functionally with the company's enterprise architects to ensure the After Sales platform is built cohesively with other digital solutions within AutoNation Stay up to date with best practices and implementations, including security and data privacy Be the technical liaison with external contractors and development agencies, when used Implement best practices for an agile SDLC, including best practices for tools for linting and code coverage Connect business asks with technical requirements to ensure engineering is clear on what to build Help support production systems once the platform is live
Qualifications:
8
years experience in Java software development and demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility 5
years developing applications on AWS and/or Azure.
Certification is a plus Experience leading a team of 3 or more software developers Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience Experience producing solution designs for large-scale, highly available, mission-critical systems Proficient in designing, creating, and consuming Web Services (REST, JSON, OAuth), multi-tier or microservice applications in Java and large-scale database applications Strong experience in SQL and data modeling Demonstrate sound architecture skills and broad experience designing applications Strategic thinking and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to combine broad technical, business, and political factors Ability to communicate complex technical design concepts and translate into non-technical business solutions Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills Able to communicate well with all levels in the organization and must be comfortable as a primary contact to internal and external customers Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience in Agile, Waterfall and other software development methodologies Next Possible Position:
